New role for van Zyl: CSA

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Corrie van Zyl as the new general manager.

“Corrie has a distinguished record as player, coach and administrator and he will do an excellent job in taking the game forward as we pursue our vision of making cricket accessible to all and making South Africa a nation of winners,” commented CSA CEO Gerald Majola.

“He will take charge of the entire development pipeline from grassroots right up to the Proteas and both he and national head coach Gary Kirsten will report directly to me in terms of our cricket structures.”
Van Zyl said he was delighted to take up his new post.
“When I decided to stand down as national cricket coach I felt I could still make a contribution to the well-being of South African cricket over a period of time and I am very excited about this new challenge,” he said.
